Poor people also know that smoking beedi and consuming tobacco is dangerous to their health. But still, they consume them because it is cheaper than a full meal.

All these, just to save some money. Risking their lives, destroying their body and skipping meals so that their monthly budget doesn't get disturbed.
Someone who hasn't been poor will never realise the true value of ₹10, or even ₹1.
Poverty is inherited. And children of poor people hardly manage to get out of poverty. They get stuck in a vicious cycle of earning their livelihood.
The government provides free education. But, attending school consumes their time. A whole day in a school is not seen as helpful to them, because they can earn ₹200 or more in a single day by working as a labourer.
This is something you can't understand if you have never been poor. Life goals are not important, survival is.
Nobody enjoys poverty. Everybody dreams of living a lavish life. But the situation doesn't allow everyone to ditch their comfort zone and achieve something big.
Someone who hasn't seen the evil called poverty will never understand this.
