When I was in 7th standard, my cousin sister introduced me to The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. I was barely 13 years old back then. It wasn't introduced in the form of a book but rather a documentary.
I remember watching it in one go. And, I still remember the instant positivity it brought as soon as I finished it. The motivation it brought was overwhelming. I felt like I could conquer the world. And the high dose of motivation brought by it lasted for a few days.
For two years or so, I followed the methods of The Secret religiously. The high dose was gone long ago. But, I didn't leave behind the techniques described in it. The thought that I could achieve anything with a positive mindset was enough to keep me motivated every now and then.
Over the years, somewhere, as I grew up and became more mature, the methods of The Secret seemed impractical. I don't exactly remember the day when it wasn't motivational anymore.
Years later, around 2013, I was introduced to Sandeep Maheshwari by my roommate.

As I had become more mature, he was able to be a source of my motivation for just a few months. The story is the same as it was with The Secret. The time just flew quickly. Initial amazement eventually ended with ‘that's now boring’.
In 2015 I came back to my village to join politics. Instead of doing that, I ended up being a farmer. That was the time Instagram pages that boast of quality quotes in their bags acted as a source of my motivation.

But as I had become more mature over the years, those pages were able to help me for just a few weeks.
The problem with maturity is that it makes you very practical and calculative. As you grow, you understand the reality of life very clearly and accurately. So, there came a phase in my life where any kind of motivational material was unable to motivate me even for a few minutes.
That is when I was able to figure out the secret behind unlimited motivation. It's very simple.
To be very honest the only option you have, other than getting motivated and working hard every day, is death. You stop, only and only when you die. If you are alive, get up, stop being lazy and start working. Even if you don't have any goals or dreams just do whatever you are doing or made to do.
You have been cast in this drama and only you have to play your role. Nobody else is going to do that. You don't have a choice either.
The problem with the external sources of motivation is that they do not last long. They keep you amazed temporarily and then comes a day when you don't even want to look at it.
Whenever I feel low the only thing I tell myself is that only and only I have to do it and nobody else is going to help me in any way.
See, you have to play the role you are given, recasting isn't going to happen. Now, whether to play that role perfectly and happily or not, is up to you. This is the harsh truth and is the source of my unlimited motivation every time I need it.
With a smile on your face or without it, you will have to keep performing till the curtain of your life is down.
