The respect you get is directly proportional to the money you earn once you are in your mid-twenties.
Your dreams are not more important than earning your livelihood when you have a family.
Your ambition to change the world which you had when you were a teen will seem illogical and impractical by the time you reach your thirties.
Adult life isn't as fun-filled as you imagined it to be. You have responsibilities now.
Finding the right person is easy. Falling in love is easy. Getting married is easy. Keeping up with that marriage and the responsibilities it brings is difficult.
It's your adult life that teaches you to respect your parents.
The passion you had to rule over the world will be lost somewhere in your commute.
Your adult life teaches you that the world is not so good a place. People are selfish, fake and untrustworthy.
You can not be your true self once you become an adult. You have to act sane, mature and decent.
Once you become an adult you can not be emotionally vulnerable. People will use you. People will hurt you. There's no place for emotions in this cruel world.
