In 1986, Elon Musk met Dalai Lama. Elon was 15 years old back then and he asked Dalai Lama the same question.
Elon Musk:- How can I maximize my happiness in life?
Dalai Lama:- Get rich.
Elon Musk:- How would that help?
Dalai Lama:- You can buy happiness from the market. It sells for $1000/kg.

Elon Musk:- Ohhh, that's a lie.
Dalai Lama:- No. It's the truth. It is being sold in a remote African village.
Elon Musk:- That's a pure lie. Happiness isn't being sold anywhere.
Dalai Lama:- Then, what is the truth?
Elon Musk:- Umm. Well, neither it's a product nor it can be achieved through any type of equipment.
Dalai Lama:- So, where do you get it from?
Elon Musk:- Actually, it's within me.
Dalai Lama:- And, what it is?
Elon Musk:- It's more like the state of my mind. It's a feeling.
Dalai Lama:- So, how do you maximize it?
Elon Musk:- I'm clueless. Maybe doing what I love will help me in maximizing happiness. Or maybe helping needy and poor people and some charity will help maximize it.
Dalai Lama:- What if your situation doesn't allow you to do what you love?
Elon Musk:- Well, then I don't know.
Dalai Lama:- What if you stop attaching happiness to any external factor?
Elon Musk:- How?
Dalai Lama:- What if you stop chasing happiness somewhere outside? What if you look within yourself?
Elon Musk:- That makes sense.
Dalai Lama:- Happiness has nothing to do with your activities. It is peace of your mind. It comes when you are content with whatever you have.
Elon Musk:- Does that mean I should stop being ambitious?
Dalai Lama:- I didn't say that.
Elon Musk:- Then?
Dalai Lama:- It simply means being satisfied and content with whatever you have achieved till today while aiming further.
Elon Musk:- Hmmm.
Dalai Lama:- And don't forget to clap for yourself every day, because you have come a long way. You are a hero of your world.
This is completely fake. Nothing like this has ever happened.
I used two prominent names to convey something because you wouldn't have given any fuck to whatever this stupid writer would have said. You would not even have completed the answer.
After all, we all are used to believing only the “successful” people.
