“Why will you spend 3-4 lakhs rupees on my wedding?” I asked my father.

We were having lunch and discussing a grand wedding that was about to happen in a nearby village. Nearly ₹1.5 Crores were to be spent in three days.

My father brought up the point and said, “Instead of spending so much on weddings, they should either donate or help a few poor girls to get married.”

“You can't help a few girls, but you can help one girl. Why will you spend on my wedding?” I questioned.

He went silent.

People should stop expecting donations and charity just from rich people only.

A ₹5 coin that is feeling useless in your home for a few months can also bring a smile to the face of a poor kid and fill his stomach.

Don't hate rich people when they spend lavishly.

You earn thousands and spend hundreds. They earn billions and spend millions. Maybe you help no one by working, they employ thousands of others.

They have worked hard for that money. Maybe their grandparents did. Neither you worked as hard nor your grandparents did. Their money. Their choice. Stop being jealous and critical.
